Electric Tea Kettles vs. Stove top Tea Kettles
When it comes to making a cup of tea, there are two main types of tea kettles to choose from: electric and stove top. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages, so it's best to weigh your options before you purchase. Although most of our families give us old stove top pots that we keep for ages, the question remains... is it necessary to upgrade to electric?
Electric Tea Kettles
Pros:
Boil water faster and EASIER than stovetop kettles
More energy-efficient
Often have temperature control features
Safer to use than stovetop kettles
Can light up and be super cute
Cons:
More expensive than stovetop kettles
Take up more counter space
Must have electric to use
Stovetop Tea Kettles
Pros:
Less expensive than electric kettles
More versatile (can be used for other cooking tasks)
Can be used over open flame
Can be more aesthetically pleasing

Cons:

So, which type of tea kettle is right for you?
If you're looking for the fastest and most convenient way to boil water for tea, then an electric kettle is the way to go. They're also more energy-efficient, so you'll save money on your energy bills in the long run. Plus, I don't know if you've picked up on this but they can sometimes light up and be really fun! However, they're more expensive than stovetop kettles and they take up more counter space.
If you're on a budget or you prefer the traditional look of a stovetop kettle, then a stovetop kettle is a good option. They're less expensive and they can be used during a camping trip and have really nice designs. However, they boil water more slowly than electric kettles and they're not as safe.
Ultimately, the best type of tea kettle for you depends on your individual needs and preferences. If you're not sure which type is right for you, I recommend trying both and seeing which one you prefer.
Here are some additional factors to consider when choosing a tea kettle:
Size: How much water do you typically need to boil for tea? If you only make a cup or two at a time, you don't need a large kettle. However, if you often make multiple cups of tea or you use your kettle for other cooking tasks, you'll need a larger kettle.
Material: Tea kettles are typically made from stainless steel, glass, or ceramic. Stainless steel is the most durable material, but it can be noisy when it boils and sometimes ugly. Glass is more visually appealing, but it can be more fragile. Ceramic is a good compromise between durability and aesthetics.
Features: Some tea kettles have additional features, such as temperature control, a built-in timer, or a keep-warm function... and LEDs! These features can be helpful if you're brewing different types of tea, if you want to keep your water hot for a longer period of time or need that fun factor.
I hope this blog post has helped you decide which type of tea kettle is right for you. I think it's safe to say that I enjoy the easy use of an electric tea kettle. Although there's something comforting about a stovetop. With so many different options available, there's sure to be a tea kettle out there that's perfect for your needs.
